PROJECT
A section of seawall in the highly popular Twin Waters endured structural damage, requiring immediate repair.
Rizon were engaged to replace an existing seawall along a section of the Twin Waters foreshore. The damaged structure was causing erosion in the area due to increased wave action and storm tide inundation. Upon assessment of the damage (which occurred in early 2021), it was determined the upper section of the wall had collapsed into the waterway, with the backfill also slumping, causing a small depression of approximately 150mm. The Rizon Commercial team were engaged to repair this piece of community infrastructure for Sunshine Coast locals, working to a 2 week construction programme. Our project manager was on site daily to facilitate this rapid turnaround, working collaboratively with specialist subcontractors to undertake the repairs. Due to access limitations working on the shoreline and the complexity of a project of this nature, Rizon implemented an alternative repair approach, with majority of the works conducted via a barge.
